Bliss completed a Master of Social Work (Qualifying) at the University of Melbourne and is a registered Mental Health Accredited Social Worker through the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Coming from an extensive forensic background (in both direct client and leadership positions),
Bliss has a particular interest in working with adult clients who present with drug and alcohol misuse, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, stress and anger management (emotion dysregulation), low self – esteem and transitional difficulties.
Bliss is empathetic and open minded, and approaches her work through a client centred lens; working collaboratively with her clients to establish treatment goals and treatment planning. Bliss prioritises the therapeutic relationship and the opportunity for feedback, utilising a strength based and solution focused approach to promote self-reflection and self-awareness.
Bliss utilises a variety of evidence-based modalities, tailoring these to the needs of her clients. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy and often draws from concepts consistent with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Bliss can offer sessions under a Medicare Mental Health Care Plan.
