Luke Huxley
Clinical Psychologist
Luke is a psychologist who works with adolescents and adults of all ages who are experiencing a range of different mental health concerns.
Luke has worked with mood disorders, emotion regulation issues, OCD, addiction, relationship problems, family stress, grief, and school refusal. He has a particular interest in working with clients with longstanding personality issues including those with BPD and NPD.
Luke’s approach places the therapeutic relationship at the forefront. At the beginning of therapy, he likes to take time to get to know his clients properly to ensure that he understands their concerns as well as possible.
A big part of his practice is helping clients recognise their strengths, then integrating these strengths into the therapy. Goals can also be an important part of therapy, but he always strives to assist clients to move towards their goals at a pace that they are comfortable with.
Luke provides several different therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He also uses therapeutic tools drawn from Schema Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy.
